What happens at my first NDIS Physiotherapy appointment?
We know that every person is unique and has their own set of goals and challenges that they face.
During your initial appointment, one of our experienced and caring physiotherapists will sit down with you to discuss the problems that you face, and how physiotherapy may help you to achieve the goals set out in your NDIS plan.
We'll go through a full initial assessment with you to help us get to know you, and what you need from us, and to better understand your personal preferences.
We'll then develop a support plan for you, with a recommendation on what our future treatment will look like.
This will take into account your NDIS funding and the goals set out in your NDIS plan.
Once our service agreement and support plan are complete, then treatment can begin in earnest.
This can look different according to each individual's needs, but generally, we want to help you build your capacity by improving such things as your mobility, strength, functional skills, and pain management.
What is the NDIS?
The NDIS, or National Disability Insurance Scheme, is a government-funded program that provides support for Australians with a disability. The NDIS gives people with a disability greater choice and control over the services and support they receive. It also provides peace of mind for carers, families, and friends, knowing that there is financial support available to help meet the needs of people with a disability.
The NDIS is designed to help people with a disability to achieve their goals and live independent life. If you are eligible for the NDIS, you will have an individual plan that is tailored to your needs and goals. The NDIS can provide funding for a range of supports, including personal care, therapy, equipment, transport, and home modifications. The NDIS is not means-tested, so everyone eligible can access the scheme.
Is physiotherapy covered by NDIS?
Receiving a National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) package can be life-changing, giving people with disability the support they need to live independently. One of the key benefits of the NDIS is that it gives people greater choice and control over the services they receive.
This includes choosing their own allied health providers, such as physiotherapists. NDIS participants may receive funding for physiotherapy or other allied health services or support, to assist with capacity building, if it is appropriate for their goals
