‘De Quervain’s tenosynovitis’ definition:
an injury involving the tendons of the thumb and the synovial sheath which surrounds them. Pain is normally felt at the level of the wrist and forearm, and can often involve “crepitus” - a squeaking sensation as the tendons slide through the synovial sheath. Often requires treatment with a period of bracing and immobilisation.
